Chicago-based songwriter Ryley Walker makes music that feels like it’s from another time: earthy, pastoral, and gorgeous ’60s-inspired folk a la Tim Buckley, Nick Drake, and John Fahey. Reviewers have also suggested overtones of Van Morrison's magisterial Astral Weeks. Many singer-songwriters are currently mining that 1970’s folk/jazz influenced type territory for inspiration but no-one has nailed this sound better than Ryley Walker on Primrose Green.
