This album was recorded at the historically significant Memphis Blues Festival of 1969. Most tracks feature Memphis-based artists such as country blues giant Bukka White, crying blues legend Sleepy John Estes, barrelhouse pianist Memphis Piano Red, electric banjo specialist Nathan Beauregard, country blues great Mississippi Fred McDowell, singer and fife player Napoleon Strickland and Delta blues man Furry Lewis. This release is a remastered single LP re-release of the original double LP album on Blue Thumb Records from 1969.
